being is
being afraid
being foolish
being confused
being vulnerable
being connected
being curious
being alive
being human
Being human can be hard. And tender. And beautiful. All at once.
How is being human for you?
As humans, we tend to deny, avoid, or resist what feels difficult or uncomfortable. And we grasp at or cling to what feels good. We are caught by self-doubt, judgment, or fear, or we try to escape through distractions and addictions. We want a way out. I know these feelings well.
There is great relief in learning how to be with your life as it is.
This is the practice being human.

Throughout my pilgrimage, I’ve been writing about being. Being at ease… Being lonely… Being foolish… Being inspired… All of the above. You name it. I’ll share them here in The Art of Being, and I invite you to share your experiences as well in the comments.
Being fully alive is a process of great heart and transformation. I invite you to join me in this intimate practice.
One breath at a time.
